WELCOME AUTOGRAPH COLLECTORS !
There are many ways collectors can and should learn to authenticate the autographed pieces in their collection. There are times of course you would be wise to rely on the experts in their particular field i.e. music, movie stars, vintage, football celebrities etc. to authenticate for you.
There are many "signatures" to look out for i.e. "printed signatures", "secretarials" and "autopens" apart from a totally dishonest group who "just copy".
A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) only supported with a bonafide dealers "Lifetime Guarantee" should be accepted.
The key is being AWARE that "authentic" is not really always what it says. Trust your expert rather than making an "investment" turn sour when you find you have been "taken to the cleaners " and end up with nothing but a fake. Bargains can be found at auctions try large lots that don't generate a lot of bidder action. Auctions are an excellent source - you could find that piece you have been searching for.
Remember an autograph either IS or IS NOT authentic based on it's own merits NOT on the story surrounding its origin !!
